Workshops with parents

The workshop is dedicated to the parents of the children of the neighborhood and, in particular, to the mothers of Il Giardino di Madre Teresa. It is a path towards cultural and social integration, aimed at strengthening the ability to act as a central resource not only within the family, but also within the territorial structures around which they gravitate. During the meetings that are held on a weekly basis, participants are encouraged to share their knowledge and experiences, in order to form a cohesive and supportive group and to facilitate an increase in self-awareness and self-esteem, in order to transform the common condition of bearer of needs to a condition of potential resource. The course is guided by a conductor / facilitator and a team of experts, who, respecting the different identities, develop the different topics, according to interactive and maieutic methods.

The proposed topics are related to the topics of parenthood, maternity rights, contraceptive methods, good practices during pregnancy, breastfeeding and the first 1000 days of a child’s life; they also provide information on the territorial health structures, on the potentials of life contexts, of urban contexts, for the organization of household or common vegetable gardens, sharing of practices related to food and cooking, working contexts and unexplored potentials, possibilities of training aimed at getting a job. These three workshops are in progress and the activities differ from time to time, improved according to the needs expressed by the groups.
